Mars was born in Haiti and raised in Europe. He has a Diploma in trilingual translation and interpretation from the Scuola Internazionale Interpreti di Roma, Italy, and a Diploma in Business Administration from The New York Business School. After returning to Haiti, he was engaged in the private sector managing assembly and manufacturing plants, as well as owning various businesses. Since 2007, he has been engaged in activities related to transformation of violent conflict.
